  • About Maggie

    Welcome! I'm Maggie!

Reaching out for support can feel incredibly challenging—trust me, I’ve been there myself! But it truly is the first step toward unlocking the possibilities for healing, growth, and reconnection in your life.

Therapy is a powerful gift, and the opportunity to walk alongside you or your child on this transformative journey is a gift I deeply value.

I support both children and adults facing life’s challenges, including strained relationships, grief, divorce, social pressures, anxiety, life transitions, illness, low self-esteem, anger, and trauma. Together, we work through these stressors to foster healing, resilience, and personal growth.

I also work with parents who may feel overwhelmed, isolated, or disconnected from both their partners and themselves, helping them rediscover joy and a sense of balance. In addition, I support co-parents as they navigate the challenges of shared parenting, providing guidance to help them work through uncharted territory and build stronger, more collaborative relationships.

My goal is to create a supportive and connected space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered. I believe therapy is a form of nourishment for the mind, body, and spirit. Drawing on my background as a dietitian and personal trainer, I take a holistic approach that considers all aspects of your wellbeing—nutrition, movement, sleep, relationships, spirituality, and more.

Together, we’ll explore a path that works for you, guiding you toward healing and helping you feel whole again.

I strive to empower my clients through psychoeducation, helping them understand that there is nothing inherently “wrong” with them—rather, there are things that have happened to them or are impacting them. This understanding fosters acceptance and reduces the hopelessness or shame that often arises when we feel flawed.

My practice integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities, including sand tray, art, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and solution-focused therapy. I am also trained in trauma-informed and grief-informed care, and I approach every session from a brain-based, client-centered perspective. Ultimately, you are the expert in your own life, and I’m here to guide you in uncovering your strengths (aka super powers!) and navigating your path forward!

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and Virginia and a Registered Play Therapist, with a certification in Connected Parenting Coaching. I earned my B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Maryland and my M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.

Before pursuing my passion for helping others, I spent 10 years working at the Central Intelligence Agency. I also had the privilege of supporting children and families as a school-based therapist in the Montgomery County Public School System.

As a mom to three young adults and one four-legged baby, I understand the complexities of life and the importance of connection. Outside of my work, I enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, and being active outdoors—whether it’s hiking, biking, kayaking, or exploring new adventures.

I understand how challenging it can be to find time for self-care, especially with the demands of daily life. At the same time, I recognize just how essential it is for our overall well-being. Making space for self-care isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessary practice that helps us recharge, heal, and stay connected to ourselves and others. Together, we can explore the “secret recipe” of your self-care so you can be who and how you want to be in this world!

I look forward to creating authentic, meaningful connections with you and supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth!

I am conveniently located in Bethesda, MD, and also offer Telehealth sessions, making it easy to access support from the comfort of your home.
